"Spiritual bypassing" - spirituality as way of avoiding our shadows. Time to step toward our pain.

When I read this, I saw myself clear as ever. Wow.

"Have you ever:
    • Used spirituality as a sort of escape from reality, or as a way to avoid some painful aspect of your life?
    • Let yourself get taken advantage of or walked all over in the name of blind compassion?
    • Allowed your understanding of ultimate reality to help you avoid or push away your anger, believing such negative emotions to be "lower" or "less spiritual" than your enlightened ideals?
    • Used spiritual (or integral) terminology to relabel your own shadows, paving over the potholes in your own personality?"

"If you are being completely honest with yourself, odds are you would answer "yes" to one or more of these questions. It might be difficult to admit--in fact it might be so subtle and so insidious it's difficult to evensee. But don't worry: you are not alone. In fact, we would be hard pressed to name a single teacher or practitioner who hasn't fallen into similar traps at one time or another. Fortunately, we have people likeRobert Augustus Masters and Ken Wilber to help us recognize, confront, and embrace these flickering shadows of spiritual bypassing--offering us a path from from self-deception to self-liberation, from idiot compassion to enlightened action, from effete escapism to the moment-to-moment enactment of infinite and boundless love."

Taking responsibility for how we're creating Reality. Now.

"We must very deliberately examamine our fundamental beliefs. Are they passive, simply explaining reality? Or are they active, giving structure to the Akashic Field, the quantum vacuum, to create experiences that reflect them? We will explore the possibility that the Akashic Field is essentially neutral, and will reflect in experience whatever strong convictionsand images we impose upon it. If we really know this, then we cannot interpret our experiences as verification of the truth of our convictions. As radical and preposterous as it may sound, maybe we make it all up as we go along, both on the individual and collective levels. Failure to even weigh such a possibility is the inherent danger of religious dogma. It constitutes a self-fulfilling prophecy-the belief in evil creates evil, and prophesies of doom engender apocalyptic scenarios.  This is most germane in surveying the religious insanity of the Middle East: Each side cleaves to its dogma and devotion, certain that the other is wrong and evil, while blithely unaware that both are reacting to manifestations of the underlying Akashic Field that they, themselves, have created.

We have reached a point in our development where we can function as conscious co-creators with the Divine.... We have the power to structure the Akashic Field with our thoughts, imaginings, and feelings, whether we are conscious of this aptitude or not. We must now take responsibility for doing so."

"We must proceed with great caution. The ability to create is not tantamount to the ability to create wisely.  Once we become aware of how we manifest the content of our existence from the Akashic Field, we must also become aware of, and rigorously question, with what our manifestations  align themselves. Until fairly recently, the greater part of humanity has been thoroughly entrenched in egoic and pre-egoic mental structures, and has been unconsciously and rampantly cultivating from them.  Even most of those who live at the ego level, but who have a conscious awareness of the psychological techniques of manifestation, practice them from the intentionality of the ego, frequently believing that they are coming from a higher place."

"In recent years there has been an increasing presence of books, audio material, and workshops on the subject of manifestation. In and of itself, this is an encouraging sign, in that it indicates a fostering of inquiry and stronger sense of autonomy. The problem, however, is that nearly all of this material is being used for purposes antithetical to their aim - they are facilitating the augmentation of the ego. The ability to manifest is not a sign of spiritual evolvement or enlightenment. It is simply a skill - a use of available technology. What calibrates spiritual development is the tenor of our use of this technology-whether we employ it in the service of the ego or  of the Divine Plan."

Reflections on Oneness...

There are lies in everyone's world view - truth is relative - in every context one can be a force of good and light or fear and separation. There are many paradoxical parallel world views - core is to be true to oneself, connect to beauty and love inside oneself, integrate all aspects shadow and light into coherence and act accordingly. Trust the inner guidance toward awakening to full integration of self - recognizing that the entire cosmos is an expression of one's consciousness. From that view - "all 'others' are 'me' in a 'them' costume to teach me, and provide gifts for the evolution of my consciousness."

Invoking the Consciousness of Allowance of the Manifestation of the Highest Good

"In order to know, experientially, the state of fearlessness that comes of aligning with one's Godself, it is necessary to undergo what might be considered to be a series of initiations. These manifestations, as experiences, of one's fear of disconnection, are in fact illusory devices that you have created for yourself so that you might have the means of proving otherwise.  By consciously choosing, in one's darkest hour, to reject the vision of hopelessness that appears inevitable, and to choose instead the knowingness that the outcome will reflect your highest possible good, you open the doorway within to the place of loving trust that will lead you home."
"This blind leap in faith has been spoken of throughout time immemorial, and is known by every culture throughout your planetary history. Yet most address this reference with an air of mockery in light of the very real-seeming circumstances at hand. What is called for is not bravery and heroism in that "moment of truth," but total detachment. A level of surrender is called for that has released all attachment to outcome.  This level of surrender is achieved when one stands on the very edge of one's gravest fear and knows, in that moment, that there is nothing to fear."

"Embrace yourself, in these times, and acknowledge yourself for the extraordinary progress you are making, as a soul, in every waking moment. The very fact that you are drawn to reading these words attests to an opennes on yourpart to aligning with the momentum of this multidimensional journey. Know that do have done so reflects great courage on your part. And that to continue to do so, despite the resistance of consensus thinking, puts you in the forefront of those destined to emerge in the new world relatively unscathed."
"The opportunity to circumvent some of the mountains that most will manifest and choose to scale lies in the ability, in the moment at hand, to release the need to control the result of the dynamics of any circumstance in which one finds oneself. By consciously shifting one's intent to one of conscious allowance of the manifestation of the highest good of the collective, one enhances the opportunity to manifest the brightest possible outcome for oneself.  In so doing, one is able to secure a state of beingness that is unencumbered by eons of trial ad error and is free to explore the joys of manifestaion of the Divine Will in alignment with one' own."

Consciousness is the basis of all reality.

The question then is, what is consciousness?
Am I consciousness?
Who am I?
questions worthy of consideration...

Evolutionary Leaders gather at UCLA

I went to "Evolutionary Leaders" event - with all the "Who's Who" in the "conscious movement"

Saw many friends - and encountered some lovely "leaders" who I have met in the past - Lynne Twist, Arielle Ford, Debbie Ford, Michael Beckwith, Steve McIntosh, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Gregg Braden, etc. and some who I had not Bruce Lipton, Duane Elgin, Don Beck and others. A very broad spectrum of some of the luminaries of the movement, all at once in one event.

I met Barbara Marx Hubbard 20 Years ago - when we worked together on a project for a week. It was during the period that much of this work for me became very clear in my life...

That said, here we are 20 years later - all the "leaders" coming together to inspire "evolutionary leaders."

It was amazing to have all those people together on the stage at the same time - and in the seats in the hall.
Something about it though still rang of an "old paradigm" energy - leaders inspiring leaders - and people on the stage "delivering a message of urgency" to the people in the audience. I would have liked it for all of us to be in a massive circle together...

That said - it felt like an important step for all these leaders on the stage - for them to come together in solidarity and connect and work together and appear on stage together as a unified field. They demonstrated the unity of connectedness that needs to be embodied now. Even so, there was something about the way it is was done -the format, the assumption that a "message needs to be given" etc. which I feel is something from another timeline of activation, which we just stepped out of last night - and into a new timeline of collective embodiment of the evolutionary impulse.

Yet what last night represented to me was a culmination, a graduation of sorts, for all the people on the stage to be celebrated, acknowledged, connected, etc. so that the baton can be handed off. This was not unlike a ritual which marked the end of an era, a dynamic so that it could gracefully put to rest with sacred intention and honor. Once done we could move on. But this effort is the latest and best from this extraordinary group of people...who are some of the most important thought leaders of our time.

Meanwhile - check out the website - it actually has some very cool stuff on it - especially the "Evolutionary Leaders Toolkit" which appears to be a very succinct, and valuable document for all of us working together - in whatever area of life we live.

I also had a nice chat with Andrew Cohen - what a sweetheart - he's a little intense, yet very sweet energy... when I made a comment something to the effect "see you in the dream" he nudged me and said "it's all real!" - yes, another adjustment - I guess he's on the same team as all of my other spiritual guides - and filling in where you they left off... worry not - Greg nudges toward full awakening continue from all fronts from the cosmos!

The Art of Jumping Time Lines

Many of us are not aware that there are many different concepts and understandings about how time works, and what exactly is involved.

The very popularity of the book "The Power of Now" and other teachings by Eckart Tolle are evidence of this reality.

That said, my concept of time, and how reality plays out individually and collectively, forward/backward/upward/downward has been continuously shifting of late.

Along these lines, I found an article called "The Art of Jumping Time Lines" to be very helpful in adding shape and color to my new experiences of time/space/reality.  I trust you will enjoy and feel a new sense of living after reading some of this material. Here's the first part of the article:

"Although it may seem paradoxical to some, your timeline—your life—is only one of many simultaneous possibilities. And it is quite possible, indeed it is your birthright, to alter your timeline and the potentials of your life."
"Your culture, for various reasons, has hypnotized you into believing that you are limited to one timeline. In this message we shall endeavor to discuss our understanding of timelines and how you can change them."
"Whenever there is an increase of chaotic events, there is a convergence of multiple timelines. Due to the fact that your planet has entered a Chaotic Node and is experiencing ever-increasing levels of chaos, there is also an increase in what we calltime nodes."
"Time nodes occur when two or more timelines converge. As a result of their close proximity oscillation effects sometimes occur when the realities of one timeline bleed through, or are psychically perceived by those on a neighboring timeline. Strong timelines can also literally affect the possibilities and/or probabilities of other timelines within a time node. In other words, creative and novel effects often occur within timelines when they enter a time node (proximity to other timelines)."

"These are evolutionary jumpstarts that hold tremendous possibility for accelerated evolution if you understand how to utilize them."

The Fire of Life Within is One with All Life.

From the Essene Gospel of Peace:
"And Jesus said: 'Happy are you, Sons of Light, for you have entered the deathless way and you who walk in the path of truth, even as did your fathers of old, who were taught by the Great Ones. With the eyes and ears of the spirit do you see and hear the sights and sounds of the kingdom of the Earthly Mother: the blue sky where dwells the angel of Air, the foaming river where flows the angel of Water, and the golden light which streams from the angel of the Sun, and I tell you truly, all these are within you as well as without; for your breath, your blood, the fire of life within you, all are one with the Earthly Mother."
The book known as the "Essene Gospel of Peace" was found by the translator Edmund Bordeaux Szekely in the archives in the Vatican in the 20's.

Eat, Pray, Love - "The Guru Gita Goes Mainstream"

"The Guru Gita Goes Mainstream" - Julia Robert's latest film "Eat, Pray, Love" is based on a woman's journey, and her visit to an ashram in India - which is the home of Siddha Yoga, a path I studied since I was 16. In our tradition, we study a set of sutras known as the Guru Gita - "song of the Guru" The "guru" refers to both any authentic spiritual teacher, and "guru" is also simultaneously a principle of Divine transformative awareness which works through all of reality, and teachers, to bring us to realization of the loving oneness of all life. Griffin - an LA based teacher wrote a commentary on the Guru Gita.

"In truth, the gift of life must always be recognized and never be taken for granted. Why is life so precious? In Siddha Yoga philosophy, we recognize that in this human life we have a rare opportunity. We can transform an ordinary perception of this universe into an extraordinary vision. To be on this planet and to behold the universe from the divine perspective is a sign of an illumined heart. To put this vision to best use in the best way possible is a human being's highest duty." - Gurumayi Chidvilasananda - head of the Siddha Yoga Path

Earth to Humans - From Worries to Memory Access and Retrieval - Awaken to the critical moment!

"Whatever you worry about it doesn't
matter. It still affects the planet's atmosphere, which is very
sensitive. And the planet's atmosphere doesn't need any more worry. So
cut out your worrying -- now! Follow your path and trust. Don't seek
anything and don't do anything because you think you'll get something
out of it by doing it. Just do what you need to do. Everything is going
to be all right. We're all standing in the planet's field of
intelligence, every single one of us. You gotta be ready for its
changes, its little adjustments. If you're worrying when the planetary
field of intelligence changes, then you miss it. You miss the moment
for memory access and retrieval. And that could be the critical
moment!" from "Surfers of the Zuvuya:Tales of Interdimensional Travel" by Jose Arguelles

10 Easy steps for becoming an evolutionary homemaker

Shannon Hayes wrote in Yes Magazine:
"10 Easy Steps for Becoming a Radical Homemaker
  • Commit to hanging your laundry out to dry.
  • Dedicate a portion of your lawn to a vegetable garden.
  • Get to know your neighbors. Cooperate to save money and resources.
  • Go to your local farmers' market each week before you head to the grocery store.
  • Do some spring cleaning to identify everything in your home that you absolutely don't need. Donate to help others save money and resources.
  • Make a commitment to start carrying your own reusable bags and use them on all your shopping trips.
  • Choose one local food item to learn how to preserve for yourself for the winter. Get your family to spend more evenings at home, preferably with the TV off.
  • Cook for your family.
  • Focus on enjoying what you have and who are with. Stop fixating on what you think you may need, or how things could be better "if only.""

Tests for Growth

"There are various tests to which a devotee is subjected: they could be of the mind, or the intellect, of the body, and so on. A number of such tests are there. In fact, God is conducting tests all the time; every occurrence in life is a test. Every thought that crops up in the mind is in itself a test to see what one's reaction will be. Hence one must be always alert and aloof, conducting oneself with a spirit of detachment, viewing everything as an opportunity afforded to gain experience, to improve oneself and go on to a higher stage."     Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri

Warriors of love and light or Servants of Love and Light?

I know that many of our circle will call us "light warriors" "love warriors" etc. And in many respects the "peace" movement is a war on war, the environmental movement a war on environmental aggressors...

Yet in putting down our swords, we find that light and love are more effective "war free."
In my spiritual work of dealing with beings and entities of all sorts and dimensions, kind and not-so-kind. Of late I have found that effectively dealing with them has been to embody soveriegn light and conscious connection to source while firmly informing them of the conscious connection to source that we share, and that there is a oneness that trumps any dark agenda or malevolence, war, struggle, fight etc.

Which has all inspired me to explore new ideas and ways to express as a servant of light and love, rather than a warrior of light and love.In other words, when there is no fight, there is no fight.

Interested in Tantra? It's all about equanimity...

In an article recently published in LA Yoga Magazine, Robert Svoboda beautifully clarifies the ins and outs of the mysterious path known as "tantra" wherein he describes it as a path to spiritual, emotional and physical equanimity - "samarasa."

In the west tantra is often confused as a path relating only to sacred sexuality - "Those in the West who have heard of Tantra usually equate it with marathon-length, well-lubricated sexual encounters."

"The search for samarasa is a primary goal of the Indian spiritual path known as Tantra, a science about which much is speculated today, and little is known. Simultaneously more and less than a “religion,” Tantra is a corpus of beliefs and practices, developed over many millennia by loose affiliations of nonconformist seekers, who sought to free themselves from their numerous limitations and become truly independent, or svatantra (literally, “self- functioning”). Once svatantra, a human can live immersed in samarasa as a well-integrated individual, freed from one-sidedness, personal idiosyncrasies, and pointless preferences"

New Evolutionary Energies creating an enlightened World Order - Through Us

From The Collapsing Tower - Birth Pangs of Post Ego Civilization

"What is being born now is a completely new consciousness and reality that is a nonlinear break from the past. You may re-read Newsletter 04 to gain a deeper understanding of this concept. The Old Way is rapidly dying in order that the New Way can be born. Essentially, Day Six marks the demarcation between one reality and another. This doesn’t refer to a transition. It’s a quantum leap. And thinking it’s a transition will cause you to get stuck in the past."

"I’m speaking here of the death of the ego and all it represents. With regard to this it’s essential to study your own Enneagram type and practice the exercises discussed in the last two Newsletters. You must also practice being more conscious of your effects on others and the environment. The Internet article Calleman wrote on the Rebirth Celebration has another article connected with it called, The Inner Dimensions of Cosmic Rebirth; The ecology of choice and transformation in a rapidly changing world by Joseph R. Giove in which he states:"

"Those who focus on what’s falling away, melting, dissolving—on what is no longer supported by the new evolutionary energies—may become despondent, fearful, scarce in their thinking, jealous of opportunities, possessive of their resources, and mindless to the consequences of their actions on others and on the environment. This is the very behavior that is no longer supported by the underlying evolutionary impulses. Any system of a personal, social, economic, political, educational, commercial, or medical nature that was based on features of scarcity, separatism, greed, domination, control, imbalance, force, conflict, etc. have lost their energetic foundation and are dissolving back into the void as we speak. Amen and respectfully, good riddance."

"The new evolutionary energies are supporting the creation of systems based on collaboration, harmony, equality and interconnectedness. Alignment with these will manifest an Enlightened World Order, distinct from the elitist/fascistic “New” World Order currently attempting to enslave the world in a neo-feudalistic nightmare. Giove cautions:

"However, being focused on the dissolution of old systems may blind us to these new emergent properties and to the magical nature of our times. This blindfoldedness will inevitably disempower us and prohibit our eyes-wide-open involvement. It will stop us from asking pertinent questions, the answers of which will ignite our own personal fulfillment and purpose now. Questions like: What are the characteristics of this new evolutionary wave that is impinging on my inner nature? What is the deeper meaning of global warming, economics, increasing novelty and accelerating time from an interior, self-reflective point of view…the “inner ecology” of personal transformation? How can I best serve this unfoldment for my personal and community welfare? How can I quicken my own alignment with these new and exciting transformational energies being released upon the planet now?"

Humanity is not limited to one Gender, so how can God be?

We know that humanity is not limited by gender, and therefore the Divine must not be limited as well. Yet somehow the Abrahamic religions overlook this by embracing a dominant, male, distant and often violent view of Divinity.

Divinity pervades all nature, and the connection with all life. The views that incorporate the feminine traits of nurturing strength, connectedness of all life, divinity of embodiment and our world as a sacred manifestation are also views that frequently embrace a view that includes the feminine archetypes connected with God.

A couple of books - Chalice and the Blade and Not In His Image elaborate on this truth, and give a history of how we forgot Nature and the Divine Feminine in modern Religious life.

I'm very keen on the recognition that to revere nature fully incorporating the feminine into our archetypes and spirituality is essential.

Awakening to Universal Love - it's not only possible - it's our purpose.

"As I share my new message of unconditional Love with people during some of the evening talks, I have learned that most people have no idea of what I am actually talking about. By this, I mean the subject of Love. People everywhere are familiar and comfortable with "personal" love, but few are aware of the huge leap in consciousness that is required to live within the framework of "unconditional" Love. This could also be known as "universal" Love. When a person says to me, "Oh, I love myself," and they are smoking a cigarette, I have come to realise that they have no idea of the magnitude of "universal" Love. It is not even a concept for them. And this is okay; it is certainly no crime! For me, it has been a lesson in communication. Let me explain this: smoking is a personal choice, but you cannot express a higher Love for yourself while attacking your physical body. And smoking, like so many of our addictive habits, is a definite attack on yourself. Repetitive self-criticism is also self-attack. Smoking introduces toxic substances into the body, while self-criticism creates toxic substances within the body."

"When I have asked my audiences if there is anybody who never criticises themselves, not a single hand goes up. When I ask if it works, or if it helps, they smile and vigorously shake their heads. When I ask if anybody has stopped their self-criticism, knowing it does not work, nobody ever has. When I ask why they continue, knowing that it does not work . . . people look sad. All this can take place within "personal" love. Personal love embraces personal habits both in ourselves and other people . . . unless they become "personally" offensive. "Personal" love belongs to the everyday reality of everyday people, allowing us to get angry and even swear at people we claim to love. People often claim to love the person they abuse!"

"Universal Love is a very different state of consciousness. The Love for Self is of such a magnitude that there is no longer any self -criticism, no anger, no anxiety, no worry, no resentment, in fact, none of the negative expressions. You can dislike a person’s personal expression of self, but your Love embraces their soul Self. In the frame of "universal" Love, you cannot feel personal love for one person and dislike for another. Universal Love is a Love that is All embracing, actually recreating you in the perfect image of Love. Universal Love is a partnership, for as Love grows and reshapes you, so you grow and reshape Love."

The schism - both sides of human consciousness - one coin?

“... In the Middle Ages both sides of human consciousness -
that which was turned within as that which was turned without
lay dreaming or half awake beneath a common veil.
The veil was woven of faith, illusion, and childish prepossession,
through which the world and history were seen clad in strange hues ...”
- The Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy
by Jacob Burckhardt

Thy self is in all, all is thy self.
