Dawning of the Age of Aquarius... 2.0 ???
"Forget the old future", my friend Michael Gaio wrote in his poem.
It's time to put all of our ideas about anything "new age" into the recycle bin and re-evaluate what it means right here, right now!
I wrote the following in my birthday party invitation (for tonight):
"In the past, alot has been said about the coming "Age of Aquarius" the coming of the "new age", the age of enlightement, etc.
For me, it signifies an an opportunity, a portal for us to seize our co-creative power and bring about the experience of "Heaven on Earth".
What about the "2.0" part?
It is time to revisit the "Aquarian Age" concept and for all of us to take responsibility in co-creating our experience and to explore how how we can express the 'The Aquarian Age' vision in our own unique way in our current collective lives...
And, in connecting to these ideas, I ask you to take a moment to sit with the following questions:
"How am I creating the 'age-of-aquarius' experience in my life, and community?"
"How can I become more present and loving to the people, plants and animals who I live with on this Earth?"
"How does the life that I express here and now serve the highest good for myself and the whole world?"
"How can I collaborate more with others in bringing about a world where all beings flourish?"
I would suggest that you not immediately seek the answers, quick answers are not necessary. Starting right here, right now, let these questions take up permanent residence inside of us, and "live the questions" moment by moment. As Rilke said "and the point is to live everything. Live the questions now."
Well, yes, I believe all this woo - woo stuff has some "substance" as it were...
my friend Jim Fournier very astutely wrote the following. I excerpt below:
An Astronomical Argument Explaining Why Y2K was the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius
by Jim Fournier
January 23, 2007
"...Once one understands this relationship it suddenly becomes clear what precise astronomical event the popularized western prophecy actually describes. When the Winter Solstice point, which is by definition the first degree of Tropical Capricorn, conjoins the galactic equator, which we can now see marks the exact boundary between Sidereal Sagittarius and Scorpio--you have but to look at the sky on a summer evening to see the Milky Way between the teapot and the scorpion, which themselves visibly mark the division between the first degree of Sidereal Scorpio and the last degree of Sidereal Sagittarius--then three signs away the Vernal Equinox point, marking the boundary between Tropical Aires and Tropical Pisces, must also at the same time exactly conjoin the first degree of Sidereal Pisces, and the last degree of Sidereal Aquarius.
According to modern astronomy, that event occurred most precisely on the Winter Solstice in 1999, when there was also a Full Moon, at perigee, on the solstice, nine days before Y2K. Thus, the dawn of the new Millennium, the one moment when virtually all of humanity came together in the awareness of one calendrical event, was also The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius."

the time is NOW
"They are saying that it is time to claim what is rightfully ours. Claim what is rightfully ours. It is evident that we are at an evolutionary pivotal point.
We have reached, as a whole, a very new space in the energetic and vibrational hierarchies. This new space is now wide open to whatever we choose to create and
claim. It is wide open because it is now devoid of much of any prior density and lower vibrating energy. Much has been cleared away, and this new lightness and
higher vibrating existence, within and without, has gained us entrance into a higher realm.
And we could not get here until nearly everyone was on board. This brings tears to my eyes and makes me so emotional whenever I view this scenario. Yes, we are
now here is a whole….we waited for all to arrive.
Now that we have arrived, this new space then, has a certain degree of vulnerability to it. It is open. It is our responsibility, then, to claim ownership of it.
Anything and everything that has hindered, interfered with, or taken possession of what is rightfully ours, is no longer there, and no longer has any power or
influence over our divine rights to what we have a blueprint to steward.
This means several things. It means that, for instance, if we have known for eons that we were meant to have some incredible land to create our dreams and
manifest our higher visions of a new reality, we will now have access to this land, with no interference or roadblocks. Miracles will occur. We will be granted
our divine rights as the stewards of the earth that we were meant to be. It is finally time.
This means that absolutely all the balls are now in our court. This means that denser and darker energies have absolutely no power left whatsoever (unless, of
course, we are allowing and creating this within ourselves, because we are not truly focusing on where we are now residing).
This means that we are now the kings and the queens, and are being asked what it is that we truly desire….and it will be granted. I was told that we need to please be very specific, detailed, and succinct. Exacting, precise, and succinct. There is monumental opportunity here. And we can hold onto and grasp this gold ring with all our might.
In viewing this new space, it reminds me of a third world country that has just been liberated. Set totally free. Or a dog that has been on a short chain for its' entire life and has suddenly just been freed to roam all of nature, in pure heavenly bliss, ready to explore and experience anything that it desires.
This exciting energy is manifesting here in the US in the form of many presidential candidates announcing their intentions to run. There is so much excitement
that at some level, we can hardly wait to get started in creating this new and more highly evolved planet Earth. With two years still to go, think of what ideas
and individuals can come to the forefront during that time! Like racehorses at the starting gait, jumping at the bit, we are all so excited to get going! At some
level, we know that the coast is now clear.
Another manifestation can be experienced as a sudden jolt forward. What we may have created only a few short weeks or even days before, may now become
defunct, as we are pushed into a much higher version and better version of our divine futures. What a fun ride!
I have literally been pushed away by my closest non-physical companion who keeps saying, “Get out there now, and claim what is rightfully yours. Go on!”
This is why we have been challenged in the past few weeks to be comfortable with asking for what we want, and in putting ourselves first. It was all pre-planned
as training for this time we are now in, so that we would be able to take full advantage of this amazing space and opportunity.
Watch now, as miracles transpire, as our dreams come true, and as we begin to experience more unity than we have ever known. Happiness, joy, laughter, fun, and
playing in our realities will become the norm.
Our divine rights are now truly available to us….it is time to claim them and to believe it is so.

What makes you feel as good as sex or chocolate?
I have been doing alot of thinking about the power of co-creating, collaborations, community economics, mimicking "the web of life" in organizational development, etc. as key factors in helping get our civilization out of the mess we have created for ourselves.
I read in the latest issue of What is Enlightenment? Mag that collaborative behavior is the hallmark of evolution in our society.
David Korten wrote "Using magnetic resonance imaging to take portraits of brain activity, scientists have found that during laboratory excercises that the experience of forming a cooperative alliance with another person produces a strong positive response in the pleasure center of the brain - rather like eating chocolate or engaging in good sex."
A New York Times Article describes the experiments in greater detail.

A Postmodern Religious Sentiment
rather, “That wants me.” And that is a truly religious feeling—an authentic religious sentiment in a completely postmodern sense. That's the beauty of it: the arrogant postmodern ego always wants for itself, and the only thing that can really turn the tables on its unending craving is the startling recognition that the very thing you were searching for wants everything from you. It turns your whole world upside down. And I can't imagine anything that could be more appropriate for those of us at the leading edge at this pivotal moment in our cultural evolution.

Hmmm...
“Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence.”
“The Bible tells us to be like God, and then on page after page it describes God as a mass murderer. This may be the single most important key to the political behavior of Western Civilization.”

Amma's Message for the New Year!
31 December 2006 – 1 January 2007 — Amritapuri
Amma's message for the new year:
"We are entering the New Year with hearts filled with hope," Amma said one hour into 2007. "Let us sincerely pray that this year—unlike in the past—we don't have to witness any more wars, innocent people being killed due to terrorism or natural disasters. Collective prayers can make some difference."
People from all around the world were visiting Amritapuri Ashram for the holidays, and as such Amma's darshan had gone from 10 a.m. until 30 minutes before the New Year. After Amma embraced the last person at 11:30, she began watching cultural performances put on by devotees and ashram residents. At midnight itself, Amma led everyone in the chanting of Om lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu [news].
In her talk, Amma reflected on how, on the eve of a New Year, it is everyone's habit to pray to God to fulfil their dreams. "It is good to cherish some dreams in regards to the future," Amma told her children. "But we also need put in our own efforts in order to fulfills those dreams."
Amma also spoke about how the New Year is a good time to take stock of our life and see if we are making progress or if we have strayed from our goal. Amma said. In fact, sometimes we have no clue as to where we are headed in life.
‘The worst poverty one can face in this world is a poverty of love," Amma said. "In a society where selfishness is on the rise, human beings have forgotten the language of sharing. This is the most horrible curse." Amma then asked everyone who was in the habit of smoking cigarettes, regularly buying expensive clothes and other such luxurious items to consider cutting back and donating the money they would save to help the poor.
Making the point that it is only due to mankind's greed that people are forced to starve in the world, Amma told an anecdote. It was about God making a New Year's resolution to put an end to world hunger. The story ended with God failing, because no one was willing to distribute the abundance of food he had created.
"When a New Year approaches, we always reflect on the year gone past—both the good events and the bad ones," Amma said. "As spiritual aspirants, we also need to introspect: What were our achievements? Where did we falter? We should not be egoistic about our achievements. We should draw inspiration from them. We should recognize our errors and then resolve to move ahead with more awareness."
Amma concluded her talk by requesting her devotees to spend at least some time every day helping others. "It could be speaking kind, consoling words to those who are sad or attentively listening to someone's problems," Amma said. "It could be protecting Mother Nature or providing any other form of help. In this way, through good thoughts and through good actions, we should create positive vibrations in the world. Surely the darkness of selfishness and hatred will disappear. May my children become a lamp filling the world with the light of peace and love."
Amma then sang three bhajans, beginning with "Hari Bol" and "Giridhari Gopala." Her final bhajan was in English. The song—"Everyone in the World"—was very fitting for a night associated with dreams for the future, as it presented Amma's dream.
Everyone in the world should sleep without fear,
at least for one night, sleep without fear.
Everyone in the world should eat to their fill,
at least for one day, eat to their fill
There should be one day when there is no violence,
no one is injured, no one is harmed.
All people young and old should serve the poor
and needy, at least for one day, serve selflessly.
This is my dream.
This is my prayer.
Love is the answer, love is the way.
Love is the answer, love is the way.

Simple purification....and the one who has made it all.
Student, do the simple purification.
You know that the seed is inside the horse-chestnut tree,
And inside the seed there are blossoms of the tree, and the chestnuts, and
the shade.
So inside the human body there is the seed, and inside the seed there is
the body again.
Fire, air, earth, water, and space - if you don't want the secret one, you
cannot have these either.
Thinkers listen, tell me what you know of that is not in the soul?
A pitcher full of water is set down on the water -
Now it has water inside and water outside.
We mustn't give it a name, lest silly people start talking again about the
body and the soul.
If you want the truth, I'll tell you the truth;
Listen to the secret sound, the real sound, which is inside you.
The one no one talks of speaks the secret sound to himself,
And he is the one who has made it all.
